person receiving coronavirus vaccination

Are the vaccines safe?

Yes. Millions of Americans have received the COVID-19 vaccine. As of February 25, 2021, there have been no detected patterns of death that suggest the vaccines are unsafe. And, receiving the vaccination can NOT infect a person with coronavirus. And a person will NOT test positive for coronavirus after having been vaccinated. However, if the vaccine works as intended, persons who have been vaccinated WILL test positive on some antibody tests.

Do I still have to wear a mask and practice social distancing after being vaccinated?

Yes. Because data is still being gathered from those who have received the COVID-19 vaccination, it is important that everyone continues to follow all of the recommended coronavirus prevention steps.
